Over the years, the Bodaybo Region and Polyus Verninskoye have enhanced infrastructure in the region, supported local residents, constructed sports facilities and provided improved material and technical resources for leisure and education purposes. In 2020, Polyus Verninskoye intends to put its efforts and financial support into regional development, according to Igor Tsukurov, Managing Director of Polyus Verninskoye. Planned core projects for the year include renovating the Vitim Leisure and Culture Centre as well as the Trud Stadium, IrkutskMedia Information Agency reported citing the Company.
Polyus Verninskoye has retained its leading position in providing sponsorship and supporting the social projects in the Irkutsk Region.
Film screenings at the Vitim Leisure and Culture Centre have become very popular among residents; the renovated cinema is equipped with an Atmos sound system and is said to be one of the best cinemas in the region, with all screenings at full capacity.
At least 120 people visit the upgraded outdoor stadium and sports centre, which was built from scratch, every day, and the annual number of visitors exceeds 4,000 adults and children combined. Considering the region comprises under 20,000 inhabitants, this represents a significant proportion of local residents.
Polyus Verninskoye focuses on social programmes aimed at general and preventive healthcare initiatives and promoting a healthy lifestyle. As part of our partnership, the company supports sporting events, competitions and tournaments, including outside the region, and provides funds for upgrading sports facilities. — told Evgeny Yumashev, Bodaybo Major.
Polyus Verninskoye actively supports regional events, such as City Festival, Youth Day and International Children’s Day. The team at Polyus Verninskoye provides support to all WWII veterans, and funding for Victory Day celebrations.
The company pays particular attention to children, organising annual summer activities, charity events and New Year parties.
As part of their partnership, Polyus Verninskoye and the Bodaybo Administration created Summer job placements for under-18s, with the work aimed at improving town amenities. The company provided meals and compensation for the teenagers.
The Summer job programme is a pivotal project as it provides teenagers with work experience and fuels enthusiasm about working life.
Furthermore, the company supports residents who need to undergo medical treatment at medical centres outside Bodaybo, as well as families who have suffered hardships. Polyus Verninskoye assists families with disabled children who require government support.
The company’s approach to corporate, social responsibility is driven by the priorities assigned by its directors — emphasized Evgeny Yumashev.
According to Igor Tsukurov, Managing Director of Polyus Verninskoye, the company is set to continue allocating funds to the Bodaybo town and region in 2020:

As part of its agreement on economic cooperation with the Irkutsk regional government and Bodaybo Administration, Polyus Verninskoye has allocated more than RUB 120 million towards local projects in recent years. Refurbishing the Metallist swimming pool, the construction of a residential building for public sector workers and a water treatment station, as well as designing Mamakan secondary school and the construction of a health and sports facility number among the most important social projects.
