Management-Employee Awareness day at Olimpiada

Last month, Olimpiada mine held an Awareness day, the latest in a series of events aimed at facilitating communication between management and employees. Employees attended a presentation on the mine’s results, important milestones and the development plan for the mine.

The meeting was attended by a number of managers. Leonid Skorik, Chief Engineer, presented the 8M 2019 results of the mine.

Alexey Pereladov, HSE Director, told employees about the launch of a new security communication channel, the “Olimpiada” chatbot. Mr Pereladov also answered questions related to goggles, personal protective equipment, shift camp lighting, medical checks carried out using the automated pre-trip medical examination system and workplace assessments.

Sergey Bondarets, Chief Mechanic at Polyus Krasnoyarsk, prepared his own report on compelling issues facing the mine. Mr Bondarets presented his vision of the cutting-edge production process, the cornerstones of which are self-improvement, the development of new technologies and everyone’s contribution towards maintaining equipment.

Sergey Bondarets commented:

Everyone who is engaged in the operation, maintenance and repair of mining equipment should be involved in a constant learning process — not only to improve the level of their work, but also to remain up-to-date and learn about the latest technologies.

Tatyana Volkova, HR and Administration Director, moderated a vibrant Q&A session. Questions raised during Awareness day were mainly related to Company corporate policy and local issues to be addressed by management. Specifically, employees were interested in the unification of shift schedules, vacation, improvements to accommodation, additional benefits for secondary profession, Shared Service Centre (MFC), compensations and benefits for employees, living at dormitories, annual bonus, salary indexation, etc.
