Polyus Group, the largest gold producer in Russia, held a presentation at the XIII annual BMO Nesbitt Burns Global Resource Conference at Tampa in Florida (USA) on March 1. This presentation became our first step to promote Polyus’ brand on international gold markets.

Polyus’ President Eugene Ivanov briefed the audience on the current state and new perspectives of gold mining in Russia and focused on Polyus’ strategic development plans as industry leader. The strategy revealed should make Polyus one of the world’s top 5 gold producers by 2010. To achieve this company will invest up to US$ 600 million in increasing its reserves, including vast exploration works and acquisition of new deposits and licenses.

Also for the first time Mr. Ivanov had officially announced reserves of the giant Olympiadinskoe deposit, Polyus’ largest mine, which contains 10.8 million oz.
