Repayment of Société Générale and VTB loans
Polyus Gold International Limited (LSE - PLGL, OTC (US) - PLZLY, PGIL or the "Company"), the largest gold producer in Russia, announces the repayment of two bridge credit facilities, each in the principal amount of USD 230 million plus interest and other amounts due under the facilities, to Société Générale and VTB Bank.
The Company entered into a USD 500 million bridge facility agreement with Société Générale on 6 September 2011. USD 230 million had been drawn down, with the remainder of the bank's commitment voluntarily cancelled by PGIL.
The Company entered into a USD 300 million bridge facility agreement with VTB Bank on 2 September 2011. USD 230 million had been drawn down, with the remainder of the bank's commitment voluntarily cancelled by PGIL.
The facilities were used to fund the acquisition of shares acquired under the mandatory tender offer to shareholders of PGIL's Russian subsidiary OJSC Polyus Gold.
