On 14th and 15th February Polyus’ Chairman Valery Rudakov and CEO Evgueni Ivanov held a number of meetings with the President of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) Vyacheslav Shtyrov and the members of Yakutian government. The joint delegation of Polyus and Yakutian officials paid a visit to the mine and the mill of Aldanzoloto in Aldan region of Yakutia. Mr. Ivanov presented the company’s mid-term strategy to develop Polyus’ three gold mining assets in Yakutia.
The parties agreed that a cooperation agreement between Polyus and Sakha Republic should be signed in the near future to jointly develop gold mining industry of Yakutia. The government of Yakutia offered its support in the development of Nezhdaninskoye deposit’ infrastructure, whereas Polyus agreed to make as much use as possible of the local labour force and procurement in the company’s geological exploration and production works.
The government also agreed to assist Polyus in organizing prospecting works in South Yakutia.
